Last week was a bit less eventful than the previous week. The weather turned a little cooler and we got quite a lot of yard work done. This was to have been the fall that I really worked at redoing my flower beds. The broken wrist has changed the plan some. C. L. is doing more of the work than I had initally planned. I hope to post some of the plans and photos on a web site fairly soon.

Along with the weather change there some wind-not much, just enough to dislodge two dead limbs from the trees along the driveway. One limb fell along side the van. It clipped the passenger-side mirror off. That was on Saturday evening, so we took the van in yesterday to get a new mirror put on (we had gone down on Monday to have parts ordered).

Ray and Carolyn are coming next week for a short visit.

We had company this last week! Neal & Carolyn came for a long planned visit. We had some busy days, then some lazy days. They spent the first night with Lauri & Jeff and we met them in Memphis to check out Peabody Place and see the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun". We were interested in the movie mainly for the scenery--it's been a year since were were in Tuscany.
We enjoyed the meal we had at the Pub in Peabody Place before the movie.
Afterward we drove around a bit in Elmwood Cemetery, then went to Lauri's to visit some.
The six of us, along with Woody, had supper at the Wolf River Cafe. We like their catfish.

I've been negligent! A lot of water has gone under the bridge since I last posted here. For one thing, on Monday, September 30, I fell and broke my right wrist. And yes I am right-handed. We spent an hour and a half in the emergency room. An x-ray showed that the wrist was pretty well messed up, so after putting it in a splint; giving me some pain pills; and making an appointment to see an orthopedric surgeon the next morning, we were sent home. On Tuesday morning, Lynda drove me to the appointment in West Memphis.
The doctor examined the x-ray and told us he would need to use external fixators to hold the wrist once he got the bones back in place. We were scheduled to be at the hospital at 9:00 a.m. the next morning.
The surgery seems to have been successful and the wrist is healing.
