We drove up to Leachville yesterday to visit the gardens at the Adams Estate. We left the house at 8:00 a.m. and stopped at Shoney's in West Memphis for breakfast. They have a good breakfast buffet. A tour bus was just pulling into Shoney's parking lot as we approached. I believe they had about five tour bus loads before we finished our breakfast. We saw the Freleighs who were on their way to the FedEx gofe tournament.

We arrived in Leachville at about 11:15 or so. Had to ask directions to the Adamw Estate.

We spent one and a half hours looking around the gardens. We enjoyed it very much, but noticed that the roses were no doing well at all.

After we left the gardens we drove to Blytheville and stopped at That Book Store. We knew of the bookstore since that is where John Grisham had done book signings several times. I asked if there was a park with picnic tables in Blytheville. There was, and we got directions to it.

LK and Betty had prepared a picnic lunch for us. The park was fairly busy with what seemed to be several family reunions taking place. As we were getting ready to leave, we sat and watched three boys doing flips (and some backflips) off a slide.

It has been a busy day, again! I really got some work done on my course. And got a little garden work done.

We are planning to drive up to Leachville to visit the Adams Estate gardens on Saturday. Mr. & Mrs. Adams have these lovely European type gardens on their property in the northeastern part of Arkansas. The gardens are only open to the public for short periods. We went two years ago on Memorial Day weekend. Mike and Betty are going with us.

It's good to be able to post to this blog, again. I've tried for some time to post some things and finally just a moment ago I succeeded. The time is off, so I'll have to see how to change that. And, I want to try to get the links to open in new windows. Otherwise, you have to use the back button to get back to the blog.

Sunday was a very busy day! We went to the new early service at church, then had Sunday School. I came home after SS and worked on the photos that I had taken at the service. LK worked through SS with the group setting up for a luncheon honoring the family of our district superintendent.
