Our change of plans took us to Memphis on Saturday (with Mike and Betty) to eat lunch and see a movie. We had soup and sandwich at one of our favorite places, then went to see "Hotel Rwanda".

As we were driving off from the restaurant our waiter came running down the street behind us with Betty's purse. The ironic thing is that as we were eating Lynda had told the story of leaving her purse there once. That time we had to drive back to get it.

After the movie we stopped by a Perkins for dessert.

I used the blogthis to post a thought. I think that I'll stick with using the regular blog editor.

We were planning to drive up to Reelfoot Lake tomorrow and see if we could view some of the eagles that winter there, but the weather looks as if it may be best if we plan some other activity.

We welcomed the new year along with our friends, Ray and Carolyn, while visiting other friends, Robert and Olivia. We were at Robert and Olivia's lake house at Canyon Lake, Texas.

This was the forty-secondth New Year's Day that L.K. and I had shared with Ray and Carolyn. And, we have had essentially the same menu for lunch. I cooked German sausages, red cabbage, German potato salad, black-eyed peas, and cornbread.

On Jan. 4, L.K. and I drove up to Arlington for a visit with Neal and Carolyn.
