A Relaxing Saturday

We spent a relaxing day by going to Little Rock and visiting the Clinton Presidental Library. Lynda and I went over on November 18, 2004 for the dedication, but today's visit was much more enjoyable. The weather on dedication day was miserable, and after sitting in the rain for several minutes we decided to retreat to a warmer, drier place. We ended up at the River Market area where we watched the procedings while having a cup of soup.

Mike and Betty went along with us and they seemed to enjoy the experience as much as we did. There were quite a few people at the library, but it was not crowded. We had lunch in Cafe 42 at the library. We probably spent about three hours at the library and plan to go back later in the spring.

A Wintery Weekend

Well, the weathermen were correct! When we got up on Saturday the ground was covered with a mixture of sleet and snow. This time the streets were at least partially covered with the mixture. I haven't been away from the house since the cold front came through.

The photo above is our neighbor's house. I didn't have to go outside to get the shot, just openned the Baker Street door and stood on the side porch.

Needless to say, LK and I did not go to the symphony on Saturday evening.

This is the first time in several years that I can remember us cancelling Sunday church services. But, it was probably a wise move since the parking lots and sidewalks are slick with the icy mixture.

Some Winter Weather in February

We finally had some snow! Last Friday it began snowing about noon and continued for several hours. The temperature was above freezing so the streets stayed snow-free. But, the grassy areas and shrubs were covered with snow. It made for a lovely scene.

The forecast for this weekend doesn't sound as good. We may end up with some frozen rain and some icy roads. L.K. and I were planning to attend the symphony in Memphis on Saturday evening. Those plans may have to be revised.
