Memorial Day Weekend
We drove to Arlington on Friday to visit Neal and Carolyn. And to go to Cody's graduation. Friday night night (or early Saturday morning) Carolyn took Neal to the emergency room because his blood pressure and pulse rate were very high. The expectation is that with medication he should be able to come home tomorrow.

Lynda and I went to the graduation this morning. We drove to Fort Worth and located the center where the ceremony was being held. Thanks to the cell phone we were able to locate the others family members and sit with them.

Today I got an email from the young man who helped me at the internet cafe in Colmar. I had sent him a message when we got back to Arkansas and it was good to hear from him.

I also sent messages to the hosts where we stayed in Brantes and in Montignac, but haven't heard back from them yet.

I have gone through all of the digital photos that I took on the trip and am eager to get started on a web site dealng with our adventures.

Recap of Our Trip

I found that attempting to keep up with the blog whlle traveling without a computer doesn't work for me. Over the next few weeks, I hope to post some recollections of the five-week trip. I'm doing this in order to get things down before I forget everything about the trip.

I have been going through the digital images that I took and Lynda has her many rolls of film ready to take to be processed. Eventually I will get some web pages with photos and comments.

Back in Houston

We arrived in Houston at 7:05 Tuesday evening. Ken met us at the airport and delivered us to his and Grace's home where we spent the night. We drove to Paris (TX) on Wednesday and will spend tomorrow winding down from our trip.

After our week in Montignac we began our three-day trek back toward Amsterdam. On May 14th we spent the night at a farm near Crux-la-Ville. The farmhouse has been in the family for over one hundred years. Our hostess prepared the evening meal for us (quiche and salad) and suggested we visit a near-by village on our way the next morning.

In Montignac

#
We are in the Dordogne region of France. On Saturday, we checked out of our place in Brantes and drove over to view one of the most famous Roman aquaduct/bridge in France. Then, we proceeded to Milleau where we crossed the highest bridge in the world. It is a fabulous sight!
We allowed ourselves to get into a situation where we really needed fuel, but when we finally found a station there was no attendent--only pay-at-the-pump. It turned out that our credit cards would not work. There was a young man getting fuel for his car, so I was able to explain our situation and ask about the location of another station. He indicated there was none open. But--with my very limited French--I understood when he offered to use his card with me paying him in euros.
We arrived at our place in Montignac and had a good night's sleep. This morning, Judy, took us on a tour of the village (pop 3000).
