We are in the Dordogne region of France. On Saturday, we checked out of our place in Brantes and drove over to view one of the most famous Roman aquaduct/bridge in France. Then, we proceeded to Milleau where we crossed the highest bridge in the world. It is a fabulous sight!
We allowed ourselves to get into a situation where we really needed fuel, but when we finally found a station there was no attendent--only pay-at-the-pump. It turned out that our credit cards would not work. There was a young man getting fuel for his car, so I was able to explain our situation and ask about the location of another station. He indicated there was none open. But--with my very limited French--I understood when he offered to use his card with me paying him in euros.
We arrived at our place in Montignac and had a good night's sleep. This morning, Judy, took us on a tour of the village (pop 3000).

In Montignac

I am thoroughly enjoying reading of your adventures! Also, I've gone to your web site and browsed through the photos of your Tuscany trip. Fantastic photos! You have compiled a wonderful architectural survey. I would love to paint from some of your photos (with your permission, of course). I've only stuck my big toe into Italy while on a trip to France in 2001. I want to go back. Dreams.
