Today is a cold day. I believe that I'm ready for spring to get here!

The plum tree in our neighbor's yard is about to burst forth in leaves. Some of the flowers have been blooming for about a week. But it is still a bit chilly to be out working in flower beds and such.

September is Here


And fall with its cooler weather shouldn't be far behind. I've been going through photos that I took during this past year trying to decide on some that I can enter into the St. Francis County Fair. I've got a few more days to decide, but not many. I plan to have enlargements made rather than try to print them myself. Also, I've got to decide on how to mount/frame the entries.

I'm checking to see if I can post something to the blogger using email.

 

A Welcomed Rain

It finally rained last night. We may have gotten about an inch of rain, and that was good. I don't believe that it had rained this month or at least it hasn't to amount to anything. We have been watering the garden for two or three weeks at least.
I keep seeing plants that I would like to have in the garden, but we are about to go on a two-week trip and I don't want to set anything out at this time.

A Good Weekend


We spent the weekend in the Mena/Rich Mountain area. Carolyn and her folks were going to their place on Rich Mountain and since we had not been there recently we decided to visit them there. We drove over from Forrest City on Saturday as they drove from Irving , TX. Had a nice visit with them. Carolyn treated us to breakfast at the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge on Sunday morning. Then we had Chinese food in Mena for supper that evening.
