Planning Our Trip - I

We are getting excited about our trip to Europe! There are still several things to get done before we leave for Texas to join Ray and Carolyn and head for Houston.

We are flying Continental from Houston to Amsterdam on April 12--or at least we leave on the 12th. After leaving Houston at 7:30 p.m. we will arrive in Amsterdam around 11:30 the next morning.

We are spending two days in the Netherlands to see tulips and windmills, then we will drive to Dinslaken in northern Germany to spend some time with our friends Johannes and Anneliese Ernst. We will be there on a weekend, so maybe we will get to see their son, Johannes, Jr., also.

On Monday, April 18, we will travel up the Rhine (driving) through Cologne and Bonn to a hotel near Koblenz. We will visit Castle Eltz after spending the night. This part of the trip is to makeup for having to miss seeing the castle during our last trip to Europe.

We will cross over into France, take a quick look at Strasbrough, then send two nights near Colmar. This gives us an opportunity to see some of the sights in this region of France. The next two nights (April 21 & 22) will be near Chalon-sur-Saone.
One of the places that we are planning to visit in this region is Taize.

On Saturday, April 23, we will travel down to Provence where we will stay for two weeks in Brantes. Using this as a base, we plan to see some interesting places.

More later.
